How Big Is the Web?
Ever wonder just how big the internet really is? Well, if you think of your site as a needle in a proverbial haystack that is the web, then you’re not far off. The Netcraft January survey estimates that last month there were 255,583,825 website domains in total. That equates to one domain per person if you combine the total populations of the United States.
It’s kind of like the “Why is the sky blue” question that keeps you up at night. But fear not, Gizmodo has came out with this excellent informational graphic chart which visualizes almost exactly how big the internet really is, on a typical average day (as of 2009).
